Access Codes

We’ll provide you with an access key code before your arrival. This will allow you to check yourself into the property. Please make sure you have received the code before you travel. If you haven’t received this before setting off, make sure you have signed the Rental Agreement located in your Welcome Message. This needs to be signed before Access Info is provided. There's nothing worse than arriving somewhere new (potentially at night) and not being able to get in!

Parking and Door Access Code

You should have received the address, parking information, and door access code in a message from us through the AirBnB or VRBO app or email. Enter this code into the smartlock to unlock.

Check-In Time

Your check-in time is 4 pm. We can sometimes arrange an early check-in, so please contact us if you plan to arrive early and we'll do our best to accommodate you. If you are arriving early, have a look at the “local area guide” section. We've listed lots of things you can do around the area while you’re waiting to check in.

Parking

You have one designated parking spot in the driveway behind the apartment building. Please park your car starting on the RIGHT side of the parking area in spot 1, 2, or 3.

Access

After you park, walk to the entrance closest to the street by the mailboxes. Walk through the mudroom and up the stairs to the third floor, Apartment 3. Enter the code you received in the check in instructions here. To lock, simply close the door and press the lock button.

Heating

This apartment has individual electric heaters in the bedroom, kitchen, and living room. The dials should be set in the “comfort zone.” If you would like more or less heat, turn the dial in the appropriate direction. Clockwise is warmer and counterclockwise is cooler. So in the photo below on the right, turning the dial toward the wall is warmer and away from the wall is cooler.

Fireplace Instructions

The fireplace can be manually turned on with the power switch and buttons on the top of the unit. The on button will just turn on the light. The 750W button will turn on the heat as well. Please remember to turn off when not in use.

Cooling

Window Fans - In the spring and fall, when the days are warm and the nights are cool, many enjoy using a window fan. Simply open the window, place the fan in front of the screen and gently close the window to hold the fan in place. The center switch allows you to pull air IN, OUT, or EXCHANGE (meaning one side pulls air in and one side pushes air out). The knobs with the numbers are the speed of each side of the fan. The top knob with circles around it is the fan’s thermostat. The fan will turn on and off based on where you set this knob.

Some units just have simple fans with 3 settings, low, medium, and high.

Air Conditioning

Window A/C units will be installed for you and available to use in the summer months. Please do not leave A/C running when you leave the apartment.

TV and WIFI

Wifi name and password is located on a sign in the apartment. Please note the password is case sensitive!

Stream your favorite shows from our smart TVs. Please remember to log out of your accounts before you leave.

Laundry

The washer and dryer are located in the second floor hallway closest to the parking area, which is best accessed through the door closest to the parking area. So you’ll walk down from the 3rd floor, exit the door closest to the street, then walk to the entrance near the parking lot, and lastly, back up to the second floor.

Washer

The washer can be used with COLD water ONLY. Please keep the knob set on cold, adjust your load size, turn the dial to the wash cycle you would like and pull the knob out to start. Don’t forget to put the appropriate amount of laundry detergent directly in the machine.

Dryer

Set your temperature to low or high, turn the dial to the setting you would like and press the button to start. For your safety, please empty the lint filter located in the front of the dryer before and after each load.

Laundromat

Alternatively, there are two laundromats within a 5 min drive. Waterville Highlander Laundry is located at 84 Elm St, Waterville and Laundry Lounge Laundromat is located at 60 Bay St in Winslow.

Trash

The trash pail is located under the kitchen sink. When full or before you leave, please take your trash out to the can marked Gregory’s located on the side of the apartment near the driveway. Trash must be enclosed in trash bags in order for the garbage to be picked up. Please note, any trash NOT placed in bags will remain in the can. Thank you for helping us maintain a sanitary environment by bagging your trash.

Emergency and Safety Information

For your safety, there are fire extinguishers located by both apartment exits. Please call 911 immediately in case of a fire or other life-threatening emergency. After you are safe, please notify us immediately. Below are direct phone numbers for the Local Fire and Police Departments.
